Løvåsen Sykehjem,
Bergen, Norway
2006

The Norwegian elderly home is a symmetric building
with two major sections. The neon installation is
consideredto be both a wall decoration and a navigation
system. Leaving the elevator you will be viewing
a constantly changing pattern and simultaneously
being able to identify in which section and on which
floor you find yourself.

Inspired by the idea of natural ornaments - structures
that have been shaped by their condition of life - the
pattern replaces the dynamic process of growing
and melting ice crystals.
