GN Store Nord, Copenhagen
Sketch for invited competition
1. Prize

Entering the new office building of GN Store Nord, drafted
by Nobel Architects, Denmark, the big atrium opens the
view over the whole complex and represents the gathering
point for the company building. The atrium consists of
gangways, a cylindrical auditorium and two free-standing
conference rooms.

The elevator, which is situated right in front of the
entrance, is the only moving object in the very technical
and static environment. The slightly angular stripes
of the elevator tower, which are printed on laminated
glass, interfere with the stripes on the moving cabin.
The result is a dynamic, slightly changing moiré
effect whenever the elevator goes up and down.
